When it comes to autumn, people love posting about pumpkins. Those fancy coffee concoctions! All that leaf-gazing! However, fashionable attire isn’t the only reason this season is so well-liked.
As summer winds down and fall sets in, we can break out the outerwear we packed away in the spring and finally wear again.
Jackets and shackets are essential in the fall, in my opinion. Having multiple layers, including a lightweight jacket, is crucial for the season. They are not just something to wear while transitioning into colder weather; many can be worn under heavier coats once that time comes. This is especially accurate for shackles.
Shackets, which are a hybrid of a shirt and a jacket, are a popular choice of outerwear due to their relaxed, yet stylish, nature. (You can think of them as a cousin of the coatigan, another autumn outerwear portmanteau.) The shackets made this year, however, are an improvement over previous years’ models. There are plenty of options for finding a plus-size jacket or shacket that works with your own personal style and aesthetic, including edgy versions like Wray’s faux leather shacket and Good American’s oversized, below-the-knee versions.
